Duties
- Plan and conduct engaging practices focused on skill development, teamwork, and game tactics tailored to various age groups and skill levels
- Lead team participation in local tournaments and league competitions, promoting sportsmanship and competitive spirit
- Monitor player progress through regular assessments, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement
- Foster a positive environment that emphasizes respect, discipline, and enjoyment of the sport
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and program coordinators to ensure clear communication regarding team activities and player development
- Maintain safety standards during all practices and games by enforcing proper techniques and behavior management strategies
- Assist in organizing team events, clinics, and community outreach activities to promote volleyball participation
Qualifications
- Prior experience coaching or playing volleyball at recreational or competitive levels
- Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies
- Experience working with children or youth in sports or educational settings
- Ability to motivate and engage young athletes with energetic coaching methods
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with players, parents, and staff
- Background in sports coaching or teaching physical education preferred
- Additional skills such as Lifeguard experience, Karate, Swimming, Martial arts (Judo), Cheerleading, Climbing, or Basketball are a plus for versatile coaching capabilities
- Demonstrated ability in behavior management to foster a respectful team environment
- Passion for youth development through sports and physical activity
