Position Overview
Mendoza Private Security is hiring professional, licensed Security Guards exclusively for the NASCAR weekend at Sonoma Raceway from June 26–28.
If you are looking to work a major sporting event and secure substantial hours over a single weekend, this is the right opportunity. We need dependable guards for access control, patrolling, gate security, and crowd management.
Shift Schedule & Availability
This is a 3-day event commitment. We have openings for both AM and PM shifts.
- Shift Length: Expect consistent 10 to 12-hour shifts each day (there are no short or 6-hour shifts for this event).
- Dates: Friday, June 26 through Sunday, June 28.
- Priority will be given to candidates available to work all three days.
What to Expect: The Reality Check
Sonoma Raceway is an incredible venue, but it requires stamina. We want our team prepared for the environment:
- Weather Extremes: The raceway gets very hot during the day and drops to freezing cold at night. You must bring layers to handle both extremes depending on your shift.
- Physical Demands: This is a sprawling facility. You will be on your feet standing, patrolling, or managing gates for the duration of your 10 to 12-hour shift.
Clear Info on Breaks & Pay (On-Duty Meal Period)
Because security coverage at a major racing event must be maintained continuously, this position utilizes an On-Duty Meal Period Agreement. Here is exactly how that works:
- You get paid for your lunchtime: You do not clock out for lunch. Your 30-minute break is fully paid, and you remain on the clock.
- You eat on-site: You will eat your lunch at your post or in a designated area on-site while remaining available to respond if an emergency occurs.
- Rest Breaks: Regular rest breaks will be provided by floating/relief guards throughout your shift.
- Note: If you prefer a traditional, unpaid 30-minute lunch break where you clock out and completely leave the job site, you must notify management before the event so we can arrange separate coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Access Control: Verify credentials, manage checkpoints, and handle spectator check-ins.
- Patrolling: Monitor track perimeters, high-traffic zones, and grandstands.
- Crowd Management: Provide a firm, observant, and professional presence to ensure fan safety.
- Incident Response: Diffuse situations calmly and immediately report medical or security issues to dispatch.
Job Requirements
- Guard Card: Must possess an active California Guard Card.
- Transportation: Reliable transportation directly to Sonoma Raceway.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for 10–12 hours outdoors in changing weather conditions.
- Professionalism: Clear communication skills and a dependable work ethic.
