Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Records/Sterilization Technician to join our dynamic dental ortho team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and sterile environment for both patients and staff and accurate record taking. This position requires a strong understanding of aseptic techniques and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while delivering exceptional care. The Records/Sterilization Technician will ensure that all dental instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for use in various dental procedures and photos, x-rays and intraoral scans are accurate and clear. This position is for our Charlotte and Denver offices!
Duties
- Perform cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of dental instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during the sterilization process.
- Organize and manage inventory of sterilized instruments, ensuring they are readily available for clinical use.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown chairside before and after procedures.
- Collaborate with clinicians to ensure compliance with safety regulations and infection control standards.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, including monitoring sterilizers and documenting results.
- Support the clinical team in various tasks related to patient care as needed.
- Assist treatment coordinator with records including photos, x-rays and intraoral scans foe new patient consultations as well as established patients.
Requirements
- Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred, but we are willing to train the ideal candidate.
- Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff members.
- Must be able to handle physical demands of the job, including standing for extended periods and lifting moderate weights.
- Must have dental radiology certificate.
