We are recruiting to fill a Senior Computer Support Engineer position to perform a variety of computer systems administration and support tasks at an enterprise level, including analyzing, constructing, documenting, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting and supporting PC hardware, operating systems, software applications, peripherals, and communication devices for the entire organization. The Senior Computer Support Engineer can take a lead role in complex deployments and installation assignments. Performs a variety of project tasks and requires good communication skills with the ability to work with users diplomatically and skillfully.
Responsibilities - What you’ll do
- Takes ownership and works independently on assigned problems, and contacts required resources both inside and outside the company necessary to resolve the problem, with minimum or no supervision
- Responds to request for service with experience and compliance in established time limits
- Develops/maintains support document for use by all levels of support personnel as well as end-user documentation
- Maintains computer peripheral devices such as printers, copiers, routers, switches and video conferencing equipment in the court environment in support of the courts’ network infrastructure
- Assists in analyzing the needs of users to help design, develop, test, deploy and maintain software installations in an organization’s computing environment
Qualifications - All you need for success
Minimum qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s degree with at least 15 semester hours in computer science, computer information systems or closely related areas and 3 years of experience in computer information technology systems such as computer programming, systems analysis and design or work with primary responsibility for the configuration of computer hardware and software in a server and/or microcomputer environment
Additional experience above the minimum stated may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education.
Preferred qualifications
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve routine hardware and/or software problems
- Significant knowledge and experience with Windows XP, Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2010, Apple mobile devices, and a working knowledge of Lotus Notes
- Knowledge of routers, switches and Polycom video conferencing equipment
- Working knowledge of general operating principles and capabilities of computer hardware and software
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to travel extensively
