President - Custom Homes & Construction
Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic, results-driven President to lead a growing custom home and construction business. The President will be responsible for overall company performance, defining and executing growth strategies, overseeing operations and project delivery, and fostering a high-performance culture that prioritizes quality, safety, and client satisfaction. This role combines executive leadership with deep construction and custom-home experience to scale the business profitably.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute the companys strategic plan to drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share in the custom homes and construction sector.

Own full P&L accountability; set financial targets, monitor performance, and implement corrective actions to achieve fiscal goals.

Lead and mentor senior leadership (operations, estimating, project management, sales, finance) to ensure aligned execution across functions.

Oversee end-to-end project delivery for custom homes and construction projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget performance and high quality standards.

Drive business development and client relationships: cultivate referral networks, partnerships, and repeat business with homeowners, architects, and trade partners.

Implement and maintain robust construction processes, quality control, safety programs, and compliance with building codes and regulations.

Recruit, develop, and retain top talent; build a positive company culture that supports growth and continuous improvement.

Optimize operations and systemsestablish scalable processes, technology adoption, and KPIs to support rapid growth.

Manage vendor, subcontractor, and supplier relationships to ensure cost-effective procurement and reliable delivery.

Identify and mitigate operational and financial risks; ensure adequate insurance, licensing, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications

Proven executive leadership experience (President, GM, CEO, or equivalent) with 10+ years in construction and custom home building.

Track record of growing companies or business unitsexperience scaling operations, revenue, and profitability.

Deep knowledge of construction operations, estimating, project management, building codes, and custom home workflows.

Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&L, forecasting, and cost control.

Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, and building strategic partnerships.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire teams and create a performance-oriented culture.

Experience implementing systems and processes that support scalable growth (ERP/CRM, project management tools, KPIs).

Relevant industry certifications or licenses (general contractor license preferred) and commitment to safety and quality standards.

Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
