Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Local Driver to join our transportation team. We require 2 years experience. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to deliver freight efficiently within local routes. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. This position offers an energetic work environment where your driving skills and logistical knowledge will keep operations moving smoothly and reliably. We pay $22-27 depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial truck, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) guidelines.
- Plan and execute local delivery routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize efficiency and timeliness.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload freight while ensuring proper manual handling techniques to maintain safety and cargo integrity.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before departure or after delivery.
- Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate freight pick-up and delivery schedules, ensuring seamless route execution for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes when applicable.
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission trucks preferred.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving within local areas.
- Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning tools for efficient logistics management.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, FMCSA standards, and safety protocols related to commercial trucking.
- Ability to manually handle cargo safely while adhering to safety standards for manual handling tasks.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service.
- Physical ability to load/unload freight as needed; flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or route adjustments.
