JOB TITLE: Human Resource Coordinator STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Assistant Director
JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resource Manager will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department recruiting staff, employee onboarding, implement the new hire orientation to include all department training, ensuring DDA compliance with training requirements for RELIAS, CPR/First Aid, Med Training, ensuring compliance with current driver license, insurance, employee relations, other training deemed essential, performance evaluations, and establishing and enforcing company policies and practices.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
· Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
· Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring and employee onboarding of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
· Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications including pre-employment drug screening.
· Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
· Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
· Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring any complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
· Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
· Track and measure key human resource metrics including turnover, performance management, employee satisfaction, etc.
· Ensure RELIAS, CPR, and Med Administration training are completed for agency staff.
· Review and oversee unemployment and workers’ compensation claims.
· Participate in budget planning as needed and manage departmental expenses.
· Complete monthly audits on charts.
· Prepare, conduct and oversee FAR audits with DIDD
· Prepare, conduct and assist with DDA QA audits
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Experiences, and Qualifications:
· Must have experience with Human Resources with a strong understanding of the Department of Disability and Aging (DDA)
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
· Knowledge of wage and hour laws.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
· Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
Schedule:
· Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; however, additional hours may be required to address audits or emergency situations related to the care of supported individuals.
Education:
· College degree preferred. High School diploma required.
Experience:
· Three to five years of equivalent human resources experience.

Required Skills and Competencies
- Minimum of 2 years of diversified generalist experience in an HR role
- Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to embrace positivity and teamwork.
- Intermediate knowledge in MS Office programs (word, excel, ppt)
- SHRM/PHR Certification a plus
A current, valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle are also required. Valid Vehicle insurance.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
