Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Plumber to join our dynamic mechanical team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining heating and plumbing systems. Your expertise will ensure that plumbing systems meet safety standards, building codes, and client specifications. Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain heating and plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances in new construction, remodeling, and maintenance projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute plumbing layouts.
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, thread, assemble, and install piping systems efficiently.
- Perform welding and pipe threading tasks to ensure secure connections in complex heating and plumbing setups.
- Conduct routine inspections of heating and plumbing systems to identify issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Collaborate with construction teams, carpenters, HVAC technicians, and other trades to coordinate project workflows.
- Adhere to safety protocols on construction sites while handling heavy lifting and working at heights or in confined spaces.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Plumber with a valid license or certification, AK license will be required once hired.
- Strong knowledge of construction plumbing practices, schematics, and mechanical systems.
- Mentorship: Supervise, train, and assist apprentice plumbers while they work on residential job sites.
- Customer Service: Prepare cost estimates, communicate effectively with clients, and keep accurate logs of time and materials.
- Must possess a valid AK Journeyman Plumber license because you will have a dedicated apprentice from a local trade school.
- Experience is negotiable but prefer at least 3–5 years of proven hands-on experience working as an apprentice or in a similar plumbing role.
- Physical Ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined or awkward spaces (like crawl spaces or attics), and stand for extended periods.
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required to operate company work vehicles.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical diagrams related to plumbing and Heating systems.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, pipe threading machines, and other relevant machinery.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting, climbing ladders, and working in physically demanding environments.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential for precise installations.
