The Assistant Director of Nurses is a supervisory position of the nursing department and is primarily responsible for orientation of nursing staff , supporting nursing staff in supervisory role, assisting with evaluation and discipline of nursing staff, take on call of nurses only 2 weeks a month. A secondary responsibility is the oversight of the nursing care of residents in Assisted Living.
Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of a school of nursing (ADN, Diploma, BSN, or higher degree); hold current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Mexico; or, be in the process of transferring an RN license to New Mexico.
Performance Tasks:
- Evaluate new employees at the 3-month interval and assess the quality and performance of work on an annual basis of all nursing staff.
- Assess new Assisted Living residents on admit and every six months.
- Shares "call of duty" with DON in regard to Nurses and resident issues that arise after normal working hours (2 weeks of call every four weeks).
- Management - Applies mental and physical resources to secure desired results by planning, organizing, leading, controlling, and modeling of desired behavior.
- Utilizes clear communication with all nursing personnel and models cooperation and collaboration in working with interdisciplinary group members.
- Works with Director of Nursing to meet the health needs of the residents through the nursing staff.
- Participates as member of the Health Care Team in the care planning process for every resident in the nursing facility.
