Duties
- Perform a variety of hair styling services including cutting, coloring, braiding, weaving, and applying hair extensions with precision and artistry
- Execute specialized styles such as intricate braids, eyelash extensions, and makeup applications to meet client preferences
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness according to industry regulations and salon protocols
- Use salon software , manage client information, and process retail sales efficiently
- Provide excellent customer service by listening carefully to client needs, offering professional advice, and upselling retail products such as hair care items and cosmetics
- Assist with front desk responsibilities including greeting clients, managing walk-ins, and handling inquiries professionally
- Mentor junior team members by sharing techniques in hair threading, nail care basics, and retail strategies to foster a collaborative environment
Experience
- Proven experience as a hairstylist or barber with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse styles including color theory applications and straight razor shaves
- Familiarity with salon management software such as MINDBODY or similar platforms for appointment booking and client management
- Knowledge of sanitation standards specific to cosmetology, barbering, and nail care services
- Skilled in retail sales techniques including retail math and upselling to enhance client satisfaction while increasing revenue
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds and understand their beauty goals
- Experience in mentoring team members or providing training on techniques like hair threading or eyelash extensions is a plus
- Certification in cosmetology or barbering required; additional training in makeup application or store management is advantageous
