Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Technician - I to join our healthcare facility’s cleaning and sanitation team. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have experience in janitorial services, hospital sanitation, or custodial work, with a strong understanding of OSHA standards and environmental safety protocols. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of patient rooms, operating rooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
- Follow established protocols for infection control and safety standards, including OSHA guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors through various floor care techniques such as mopping, buffing, or stripping as needed.
- Restock supplies such as paper products, hand sanitizers, and other necessary materials to ensure continuous availability.
- Properly dispose of waste and biohazard materials in accordance with safety regulations.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisory staff promptly.
- Adhere to all hospital policies regarding confidentiality, infection control, and safety procedures.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred, especially within healthcare or hospital environments.
- Knowledge of environmental services standards including OSHA regulations related to cleaning and sanitation.
- Experience with floor care techniques such as stripping, waxing, buffing, or carpet cleaning is a plus.
- Familiarity with hospital-specific cleaning protocols or commercial cleaning practices is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. This position plays a critical role in supporting the health and well-being of patients and staff by ensuring the environment remains hygienic and safe at all times.
