American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ER Holding unit position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, night shift availability, and an active OH or compact RN license.

ER Holding unit in an academic hospital setting

Patient population spans all age groups: pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics

Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4

Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)

Key clinical skills include telemetry and dysrhythmia management, PCU/stepdown care, IV insulin and heparin protocols, renal failure management, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, blood product administration, tracheostomy management, rapid response team utilization, wound care/wound vac, and non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BiPAP, oxygen)

Epic EMR used for documentation

Active OH or compact RN license required

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia management, and PCU/stepdown care required

Proficiency with Epic EMR required

2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the 2nd reference; co-worker references are not accepted

Local candidates are accepted

Former employees of the facility are eligible to apply once they have been away for 6 months or more

RTO must be submitted upfront and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract period

Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after accepting an offer — candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location or will receive a mail-in packet to complete urgently
