Are you fascinated by what happens at the microscopic level of heavy-duty machinery? We are seeking a skilled Metallurgy Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be the ultimate guardian of component durability, technical cleanliness, and metallurgical compliance for high-performance diesel engine and transmission components.
This is a foundational, non-managerial technical role where you will collaborate across departments, lead failure investigations, and ensure our manufacturing outcomes consistently meet rigorous international and internal quality standards.
Validate Heat Treatment Outcomes: Inspect microstructure, case depth, and hardness to verify induction hardening and carburizing results.
Lead Failure Analysis: Utilize SEM/EDS, hardness profiling, microstructure analysis, and macro/micro etching to identify root causes of material failures.
Manage Technical Cleanliness: Conduct particle classification and reporting using VDA 19.1 / ISO 16232 standards to identify contamination sources.
Collaborate & Audit: Partner with the Heat Treatment Engineer to address process deviations, and assist with material quality reviews for both in-house and supplier operations.
Standardize Lab Processes: Drive initiatives to improve test documentation, optimize sample preparation, and reduce variation in metallurgical evaluations.
Develop the Team: Mentor lab technicians in preparation techniques, advanced etching protocols, and image quality expectations.
Knowledge Sharing: Act as the technical reference point for metallurgical standards during audits and new program launches.
