Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Memory Care Coordinator to lead and enhance our specialized programs for residents with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and other memory impairments. In this vital role, you will develop engaging activities, foster meaningful resident relationships, and coordinate comprehensive care plans to promote independence, dignity, and quality of life. Your leadership will ensure a warm, supportive environment where residents feel valued and empowered. Duties
- Develop, implement, and oversee personalized activity programs tailored to residents’ cognitive abilities and interests, including recreational therapy and social engagement initiatives
- Coordinate resident events and social activities that promote community involvement and mental stimulation
- Collaborate with nursing staff, caregivers, families, and healthcare professionals to create comprehensive care plans focused on memory support and daily living assistance
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as grooming, dressing, and mobility support, ensuring respectful and compassionate care
- Build strong rapport with residents by providing empathetic communication and fostering a trusting environment
- Manage schedules for staff assignments related to memory care activities and resident needs
- Maintain detailed documentation of resident progress, activity participation, and care interventions in compliance with regulatory standards
- Lead team meetings to ensure consistency in memory care practices and share best strategies for dementia care
Qualifications
- Proven experience in assisted living or long-term care settings with a focus on memory or geriatric care
- Experience working with seniors who have disabilities or cognitive impairments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated skills in program development, event planning, and coordinating resident activities
- Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction with residents’ families and team members
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for documentation and scheduling purposes
- Ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a compassionate environment for residents
- Prior experience working in senior living facilities or nursing homes is advantageous
