Job Description
Overview
Custodians for the Tallmadge Parks and Recreation Department perform cleaning, maintenance and rental set up and tear down duties at the Tallmadge Community Center, Ritchie Shelter House, Historic Church and other city facilities as needed. Candidates must be able to work independently.
Job Duties
- Performs routine cleaning at the Tallmadge Community Center, Ritchie Shelter House and/or Historic Church including, but not limited to sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, buffing and vacuuming floors, cleaning and sanitizing toilets, sinks and kitchen appliances, cleaning glass and mirrors, restocking paper products and removing trash
- Performs rental set up and tear down of chairs and tables as directed
- Performs routine maintenance to and cleaning of custodial equipment
- Submits timely post rental reports to the supervisor
- Maintains awareness of daily facility schedule
- Performs other tasks as assigned
Hours & Schedule
- Hours are determined by facility rentals and vary by season
- Schedule is flexible with expectation that the facility is set up prior start of rental and the facility is cleaned within a day of the rental's conclusion
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Cleaning experience preferred
- Ability to use basic cleaning equipment
- Ability to lift tables and chairs and other equipment for facility set ups and tear downs
Pay and Benefits
- $16.32/hour
- Sick time accrual from start of employment
- Paid time off (PT) accrual after working 3,000 hours
- 1/2 price membership to Tallmadge Recreation Center and Maca Pool
- Ohio Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS)
