Vacuum Truck Operator (Hydro/ Air Excavation)

Pay: $25–$35/hour+ depending on experience
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Vacuum Truck Operator with experience in non-destructive excavation (hydro excavation or air vacuum digging) to support our inspection team. In this role, you will assist with critical infrastructure projects by safely exposing underground utilities using specialized vacuum equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate vacuum trucks and hydro/air excavation equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Perform non-destructive digging to locate and expose underground utilities
- Support inspection and construction crews on infrastructure projects
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific procedures
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and routine equipment maintenance
- Accurately complete job documentation, tickets, and reports
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating vacuum trucks, hydro excavation, or air excavation equipment
- Valid CDL (Class A or B) with appropriate endorsements preferred
- Strong understanding of underground utility safety practices
- Ability to read utility locates and site plans (preferred)
- Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform manual labor
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime or weekends as needed
Preferred Skills
- Experience working on utility, construction, or infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment

Work Environment
