Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments focusing on wound characteristics, physiology, and overall health status.
- Develop individualized wound care plans utilizing advanced techniques such as infection control protocols and dressing changes.
- Perform wound debridement, IV insertions, and medication administration with precision and adherence to safety standards.
- Monitor vital signs, document medical records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and specialists in trauma centers or hospital medicine units to optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on wound management, infection prevention, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Maintain proficiency in emergency procedures such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and respond effectively to urgent situations involving trauma or infectious disease concerns.
Qualifications
- Valid nursing license with current registration; experience in medical-surgical, inpatient, outpatient, or post-acute care settings preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in wound care management within Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or urgent care environments.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation standards; proficiency in medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
- Skills in IV insertion, venipuncture, medication administration, and injection techniques.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and patient assessment protocols essential for effective wound healing strategies.
- Additional experience in PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), geriatrics, infectious disease care, or sub-acute care is a plus.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications related to trauma or wound management are advantageous.

Pay: $35.31 - $42.52 per hour
