The Patient Care Coordinator role’s three primary functions directly impact patient experience through effective and compassionate communication, exemplary service, and detailed administrative duties. To our patients you will be a trusted resource in their patient experience; whether you are scheduling their first appointment, following up with them on the status of the hearing aids or welcoming them back for their fitting.
Duties
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new patients. Schedule initial consultations and facilitate the intake process.
- Gather and qualify patient information, including personal details, medical history, and insurance coverage verification. Ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate.
- Serve patients by answering routine questions, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.
- Collect and verify patient insurance every visit. Assist patients in understanding their financial responsibilities, ensure necessary authorizations are in place, and collect payment.
- Complete forms providers need for patient fittings, testing and other office business.
Experience
- 2+ years of previous experience in medical/clinic office setting with knowledge of terminology, compliance, privacy laws, software, and equipment
- Superb interpersonal communications skills and tact, both verbal and written, for internal, external, and patient communications
- Become proficient in using EHR, charting/scribing, manufacturer systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially within insurance verification processes and transactions.
