Duties
- Greet guests warmly, provide menus, and answer questions about food and beverage options with enthusiasm.
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring special requests are noted clearly.
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining presentation standards; handle food handling and sanitation protocols diligently.
- Upsell menu items including cocktails, wines, spirits, and desserts to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
- Process sales transactions accurately, including cash handling and credit card payments via POS systems like OpenTable or similar platforms.
- Assist with food preparation, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas to ensure a sanitized environment.
- Build guest relations through attentive service, addressing needs promptly, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or food industry experience is highly preferred; fine dining experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; familiarity with OpenTable for reservations is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell effectively while maintaining professionalism.
- Culinary experience or spirits knowledge beneficial for serving cocktails and wine confidently.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours.
- Basic math skills for processing transactions accurately; food safety and sanitation certifications are desirable.
- Experience in food handling, food preparation, bussing, hosting/hostessing, or serving roles is valued to ensure seamless guest experiences.
