We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Financial Controller to oversee the accounting and financial operations of a growing multi-entity organization with holdings across real estate, hospitality, property management, and related businesses.
This position requires someone who is extremely strong in accounting fundamentals and can take ownership of the books across multiple companies and properties. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and experienced in creating structure and accountability within an accounting department.
We are looking for someone who can not only maintain accurate financials, but also improve our accounting processes, implement SOPs, strengthen internal controls, and build systems that can scale as the company continues to grow.

Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting and financial reporting for multiple companies, properties, and legal entities.
- Lead and manage the month-end and year-end closing process and ensure books are closed accurately and on time.
- Perform and oversee bank, credit card, loan, mortgage, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review general ledger activity and ensure transactions are properly recorded, classified, and allocated to the correct company and property.
- Maintain accurate intercompany transactions and reconciliations between related entities.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements.
- Produce property-level and entity-level financial reporting for ownership and management.
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and establish controls to ensure invoices, payments, deposits, and receivables are properly tracked.
- Monitor cash balances and assist ownership with cash-flow planning and forecasting.
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and budget-to-actual variance reporting.
- Create, document, and implement accounting SOPs and standardized processes across the organization.
- Evaluate existing accounting procedures and identify areas where stronger controls, organization, and accountability are needed.
- Maintain and improve the company's accounting structure within QuickBooks Online.
- Ensure proper use of classes, locations, entities, and chart-of-account structures for accurate property and company reporting.
- Establish monthly accounting checklists and reporting deadlines to ensure all entities are consistently reconciled and closed.
- Supervise, train, and hold accounting and administrative team members accountable for assigned responsibilities.
- Coordinate with CPAs, lenders, banks, insurance professionals, and other outside parties as necessary.
- Prepare financial information and supporting schedules for tax preparation, audits, financing, refinancing, and lender requests.
- Maintain organized supporting documentation and financial records.
- Identify discrepancies, unreconciled accounts, duplicate transactions, missing documentation, and other accounting issues and ensure they are corrected.
- Develop financial reporting that gives ownership a clear understanding of company and property performance.
- Help build an accounting infrastructure capable of supporting continued acquisitions and company growth.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller
- Strong experience managing accounting for multiple entities simultaneously.
- Advanced knowledge of month-end closing procedures, general ledger accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Extensive experience with QuickBooks Online is required.
- Strong Excel and financial analysis skills.
- Experience creating and implementing accounting SOPs, internal controls, and standardized workflows.
- Ability to review existing books, identify problems, and develop a plan to clean up and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Experience managing or supervising accounting staff.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple companies and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to independently identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Strong communication skills and ability to clearly explain financial information to ownership and operational management.
- Ability to work directly with ownership in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.

- Experience building or restructuring an accounting department for a growing organization.

Pay: $74,587.64 - $89,825.98 per year
