Care Hawaii is seeking an experienced Nursing Director to lead nursing operations for its community-based mental health program serving adults across Hawaiʻi. Reporting to the Medical Director, Executive Director, and President, this role ensures consistent, high-quality care across multiple sites.Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff and statewide nursing operations
- Schedule RNs and ensure appropriate coverage across program sites
- Provide direct care coverage during staffing gaps or emergencies (Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi Island)
- Support clinical care, medication management, and assessments
- Manage hiring, training, and staff development
- Ensure compliance with DOH, licensing, and documentation standards
- Support quality assurance, audits, and interdisciplinary collaboration
Qualifications
- RN or APRN with prescriptive authority (Psych/Mental Health) with active Hawaii license
- 3+ years mental health experience (RN required; APRN may substitute with certification)
- 1+ year leadership experience
Requirements
- CPR/First Aid, TB clearance, background check
- CPI/Restraint certification (or ability to obtain)
- Experience with EHR systems
Full-time, in-person | Community-based | Interisland travel required |
Pay: $160,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
