Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive patient care across diverse healthcare settings. Duties
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols while monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to document patient information meticulously and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with complex procedures including IV infusion, catheterization, suturing, tube feeding, and ventilator management in accordance with aseptic techniques.
- Provide emergency care in urgent situations, including airway management, acute pain control, trauma response, and triage in emergency room or Level I/II trauma center environments.
- Coordinate patient care with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, specialists in cardiology, ophthalmology, infectious disease care, behavioral health, and geriatrics to optimize outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on health management strategies such as medication administration, wound care, nutrition planning, and chronic disease management.
- Ensure proper medical documentation of all procedures performed and maintain accurate medical records following established standards such as ICD-10/ICD-9 coding guidelines.
Requirements
- Valid RN license from the relevant licensing authority with current registration in good standing.
- Proven experience in long term and sub acute care environments is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology principles, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems like Point Click Care (PCC) is essential for efficient documentation.
- Demonstrated competence in advanced nursing procedures including IV insertion, phlebotomy, sterile processing techniques, and laboratory specimen collection/processing.
- Familiarity with specialty areas such as hospice & palliative medicine, long-term care (including memory care), pediatric nursing (including neonatal ventilator management), or occupational health is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to perform physical examinations and patient assessments confidently.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
- Additional qualifications may include experience in medical-surgical units, outpatient clinics or ambulatory surgery centers; familiarity with CPT coding; experience with case management; or working within hospital medicine settings such as PICU or adult acute care units. Pay: $36.50 - $47.00 per hour
