Position Title: Service Technician
Position Summary: C&B Equipment is a growing company in the fluid pumping, water, wastewater, and industrial treatment business. The service technician will provide field service, maintenance, and repair work. These duties will be performed in various locations at customers’ facilities and in our shop. The service technician must be able to work alone or with others to service and maintain various types of rotating equipment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities that are expected of a Experienced Service Technician include but are not limited to:
1. Work on clean water, wastewater, and Industrial applications
2. Receive, disassemble, inspect, prep, paint, repair, and package pump units
3. Load/unload equipment safely
4. Check and align equipment
5. Replace seals and packing in pumps
6. Replace bearings in pumps, motors, and other rotating equipment
7. Perform general maintenance and repairs on rotating equipment
8. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on rotating equipment
9. Field service work and shop work
10. Overtime and after hours will be required
11. Ability to work indoor/outdoor (year-round)
12. Ability to lift 75 pounds
13. Other duties as assigned
Reports to: Service Manager
Supervises: None.
Status: Full-Time
Primary Skills Required for this position:
- Experience disassembling and repairing pumps, blowers, gearboxes, etc.
- Safely use hand, power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools
- Ability to properly use different types of measuring devices
- Experience and ability to use lifting devices such as cranes, forklifts, and
rigging devices safely
- Experience or knowledge in electrical systems (preferred but not
required)
- Experience or knowledge in welding (preferred but not required)
- Able to be self motivated to complete tasks with minimal support from service manager
Experience and Education:
- Experience: 5-7 years in pump repair or similar field
- Education: High School diploma/GED
- Licenses: Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Must have the ability to obtain a Class A CDL and DOT medical certification. Assistance in obtaining your CDL provided.
- Additional information: Background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen required.
