About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and driven Department Lead to support our growing operations. This is a newly created position due to company growth, offering an opportunity to step into a leadership role within a fast-paced machine and fabrication shop environment.
This is a manufacturing - machining and fabrication environment! In this position, you will oversee inventory levels, coordinate with procurement, and lead a small team of assemblers to ensure efficient workflow and production continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock of parts at all times
- Coordinate with procurement to replenish materials and maintain optimal inventory levels
- Must have experience in leading and directing a team of 4–5 assemblers
- Ensure production workflow runs smoothly and efficiently
- Track and maintain accurate inventory records using Sage
- Support hiring efforts and onboarding of additional assemblers as needed
- Promote a safe, organized, and productive shop environment
QualificationsRequired
- Strong work history, work ethic and dependability
- Basic leadership or supervisory experience REQUIRED
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Solid time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team
Preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing, machine shop, or fabrication environment
- Familiarity with inventory systems (Sage preferred)
- Bilingual skills (a plus for future team growth)
