Craft and Technical Solutions is an established Marine and Industrial Staffing Company with offices nationwide. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Plasma Operator to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC plasma cutting machines to produce precise metal components according to technical specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in CNC programming and CAD/CAM software, and a commitment to maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced production environment. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC plasma cutting machines, ensuring accurate alignment and calibration for each job.
- Develop and modify CNC programs using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to meet project specifications.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards to produce precise components.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on CNC plasma equipment to optimize performance.
- Use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to verify part dimensions.
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and fabrication drawings accurately.
- Maintain safety standards in accordance with industry regulations during all machine operations.
- Collaborate with team members on materials handling, fabrication processes, and quality control procedures.
- Operate auxiliary equipment including forklifts, press brake machines, CNC lathes, milling machines, stamping presses, and welding tools as needed.
- Ensure production deadlines are met while adhering to quality specifications.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC plasma cutting machines within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls or similar CNC systems; experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is preferred.
- Proficiency in CNC programming using CAD/CAM software; familiarity with SolidWorks is advantageous.
- Ability to read mechanical blueprints and interpret GD&T specifications accurately.
- Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of industrial equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Experience operating related machinery such as press brakes, CNC lathes, milling machines, stamping presses, and welding equipment.
- Familiarity with safety standards in production environments and proper use of hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality assessments.
- Warehouse experience or materials handling knowledge is a plus.
- Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain one is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to pass a hair follicle test and background check.
