About Us
Urban Dog Bar is Nashville's off-leash dog park, bar, and restaurant - a 20,000 square-foot space where guests and their dogs come to play, eat, drink, and unwind. We opened in October 2024 and have grown fast. We're looking for an experienced restaurant manager to run our food and beverage operation day-to-day and keep it humming as we scale.
The Role
You'll run the floor. This is a hands-on hospitality role leading our bar and kitchen through service - managing the team, keeping standards high, and stepping in wherever the night needs you, whether that's behind the bar, on the line, or expediting a rush. You'll also work to clear cost and margin targets we set together, using our systems and data to keep the operation tight. We're looking for someone who knows what a well-run bar and kitchen feel like and can make ours run that way every shift.
What You'll Do
- Lead bar and kitchen service day-to-day; staffing, standards, and smooth execution through every rush
- Step in on the floor wherever needed: behind the bar, on the line, or expediting
- Manage, schedule, and develop bartenders and kitchen staff
- Hit and beat food cost, labor, and margin targets, using our systems (Toast POS, MarginEdge, 7Shifts)
- Keep purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships running smoothly
- Help shape the menu and pricing alongside ownership
- Keep the operation compliant, well-stocked, and running alongside our dog park team
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of restaurant and/or bar management experience
- Hands-on command of both bar and kitchen - you can lead a shift and jump in on either side when it counts
- A track record of running tight, profitable service and developing a team
- Solid understanding of restaurant cost and margin basics - comfortable working to food cost, labor, and budget targets
- Able to work closely with ownership, take direction, and execute against shared goals
- Genuine comfort being around dogs every day
- Full-time availability, approximately 45-50 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and events
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods, work in a fast-paced environment through busy shifts, and regularly lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
Compensation & Benefits
