Banquet Captain
Job Description
The AC Hotel & Element Boise Downtown is seeking an experienced and energetic Banquet Captain to help lead banquet and event operations at our brand-new hotel. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing banquet service staff, ensuring successful event execution, and delivering exceptional guest experiences for meetings, weddings, corporate events, and special occasions.
The Banquet Captain serves as the point person during events, coordinating service, communicating with the culinary team, and ensuring all details are executed according to banquet event orders (BEOs). Banquet Captains typically supervise banquet staff, oversee event setup and breakdown, and maintain high service standards throughout each function.
Responsibilities
- Lead banquet servers and event staff during assigned functions
- Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and ensure accurate event setup
- Coordinate with culinary and hotel leadership teams to execute events seamlessly
- Monitor service standards and provide guidance to banquet staff
- Ensure banquet rooms, buffets, and event spaces are properly set and maintained
- Anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns professionally
- Assist with event setup, service, and breakdown as needed
- Train and mentor banquet team members
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards throughout events
- Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction from start to finish
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of banquet, restaurant, or hospitality leadership experience
- Previous banquet captain or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain standing for extended periods
- Professional appearance and commitment to outstanding guest service
- Knowledge of banquet operations and food & beverage service standards
