Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with skill, consistency, and attention to detail, including techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food production.
- Assist in menu planning and contribute creative ideas to enhance our offerings.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Handle food with care, following proper food handling protocols to prevent contamination.
- Support dietary department needs by preparing specialized meals and understanding dietary restrictions.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely food service during high-volume periods.
- Participate in food prep activities such as meal assembly, portioning, and garnishing for presentation excellence.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly for optimal performance.
- Assist with catering events and special functions as needed, ensuring quality standards are met from start to finish.
Skills
- Extensive culinary experience with a focus on fine dining or high-volume production environments.
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and food preparation.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures to maintain compliance with health regulations.
- Experience working in restaurant settings or the food industry with a focus on food handling and service excellence.
- Ability to plan menus effectively while considering dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced settings while maintaining quality standards.
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with effective communication abilities to coordinate seamlessly within the kitchen staff.
