Line Cook (Open Kitchen Experience Required)
Penmac Staffing is hiring an experienced Line Cook for an upscale restaurant in Springfield. This Line Cook position is ideal for candidates who enjoy working in a fast-paced, open kitchen environment and take pride in preparing high-quality, great-tasting food for guests.
Requirements for the Line Cook
- Previous line cook experience required, including open kitchen experience
- Culinary degree preferred
- Excellent communication, guest service, and time management skills
- Ability to stay organized, plan ahead, and manage workload effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
- Dependable and energetic work ethic
- Must be flexible with scheduling based on business needs
- Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
Line Cook Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of foods including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and cold items
- Follow established recipes, portion sizes, and cooking methods to maintain quality standards
- Ensure proper plate presentation and garnishing for all dishes
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food at line stations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times
- Follow safe and hygienic food handling practices
- Assist with food prep, product rotation, and storage
- Complete kitchen closing duties according to established checklists
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, management, and front-of-house team
- Support various food and beverage operations as needed
Physical Requirements & Work Environment for the Line Cook
- Continuous standing and walking required
- Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting up to 60 lbs
- Indoor, fast-paced kitchen environment
