POSITION SUMMARY
The Electrical Construction Engineer ensures all project work meets engineering standards, applicable codes, design best practices, and client specifications. This role requires broad knowledge across electrical engineering—including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and value engineering for constructible designs. You will use industry‑standard software to produce design and construction drawings and support field operations. Both design and field experience are highly desirable.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Minimum five (5) years of electrical engineering power distribution design and construction experience preferred
- Strong working knowledge of NEC and NFPA codes
- Perform cable and conduit sizing; prepare single‑line diagrams
- Size feeders, overcurrent protection, and equipment elevations
- Conduct job site visits to survey existing electrical conditions
- Support value engineering efforts and coordinate with procurement
- Review, comment on, and process equipment, drawings, and system submittals
- Generate project specifications and RFIs
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical disciplines
- Prepare and check designs for power, lighting, and auxiliary systems
- Resolve design interpretation issues, conflicts, and interferences
- Collaborate with Field Operations and Project Managers to align design with budget
- Participate in client, architect, and contractor design meetings
- Create layout drawings, detail drawings, and as‑built documentation
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience
- Experience in commercial, construction, mission critical, datacenter or industrial settings (data center experience is a plus)
- Strong prioritization and multitasking skills with adaptability to changing requirements
- Fluency in NEC, NFPA, and IEEE standards and codes
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively within a team
- Professional interaction skills across teams, including management, suppliers, and clients
- Site construction or EPC experience beneficial, but not required
- Experience with Revit or AutoCAD preferred
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Base salary range (DOE): $100k-$120k
- Overtime paid at time‑and‑a‑half (typically +$30K–$35K above base annually)
- 10% annual bonus
