Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated kitchen helper/ line cook to join our team. As a kitchen helper/ line cook, you will play a key role in preparation and cooks food in a restaurant or other food service establishment, working as part of a team to ensure dishes are prepared efficiently, accurately, and to the required quality standards. They are responsible for specific stations or areas of food preparation, following recipes and instructions from chefs. Kitchen helpers will set up and maintain their cooking station, ensuring it's stocked with necessary supplies and kept clean and organized. Line cooks adhere to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling, storage, and cleaning procedures. Line cooks collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely food preparation and service. Creating a welcoming atmosphere while preparing high-quality beverages and food items.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of food items according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including equipment and utensils.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality.
- Follow food handling and safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of both customers and staff.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment and enhance customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the food service or retail industry is an asset.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food handling practices is beneficial.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
