Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator to join our construction team, bringing expertise in cost analysis, project budgeting, and bid preparation for commercial construction projects. Duties
- Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine project scope and requirements.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and other construction management tools to develop detailed cost estimates.
- Analyze material costs by reading blueprints and estimating material requirements accurately from project plans.
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, including detailed spreadsheets and cost breakdowns for clients and internal teams.
- Manage project budgets by estimating labor, equipment, subcontractor quotes, and material costs while maintaining cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct negotiations with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to secure favorable pricing and contractual terms.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to ensure estimates align with project goals, schedules, and budgets.
- Review contracts, change orders, and scope modifications to update estimates accordingly.
- Assist in managing multiple projects simultaneously by tracking costs, updating estimates as needed, and ensuring timely submission of bids.
- Maintain organized records of all estimating documents, correspondence, and revisions for transparency and future reference.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing projects as a petroleum construction estimator within the petroleum construction industry.
- Excellent blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Solid understanding of construction management software platforms and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word).
- Demonstrated expertise in cost management, material cost estimating, pricing strategies, and project budgeting.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and subcontractors while maintaining professional client communication.
- Petroleum construction site experience coupled with a comprehensive understanding of contracts, project management principles, and construction industry standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical skills for interpreting technical data and managing complex estimates.
- Effective communicator capable of collaborating across teams to ensure accurate estimations that meet project deadlines.

Pay: $63,569.66 - $76,557.01 per year
