Plant Manager / General Manager Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and driven Plant Manager to lead and oversee all manufacturing, production, hardware, and shipping/receiving operations within our facility. This individual will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring production efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a safe and productive work environment.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, a deep understanding of manufacturing and fabrication operations, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with leadership, production teams, and supporting departments. As we are scaling, this role plays a critical part in achieving company objectives related to safety, quality, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all day-to-day plant operations, including coil manufacturing, fabrication, hardware, assembly, and shipping/receiving departments.
- Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors and production personnel to promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Establish and maintain a positive workplace culture focused on safety, productivity, quality, and employee engagement.
- Monitor workflow, labor utilization, equipment performance, and production output to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, sales, and leadership teams to ensure effective communication and seamless operational execution.
- Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, and safety standards to maintain compliance with OSHA and industry regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on manufacturing efficiency, cost reduction, throughput, and waste elimination.
- Ensure all products meet established quality standards and customer specifications through effective quality control processes.
- Analyze production metrics and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Oversee inventory flow, material handling, and shipping/receiving activities to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment.
- Assist with budgeting, labor planning, capital equipment planning, and operational forecasting.
- Support the leadership team in executing strategic initiatives and long-term operational objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Strong understanding of assembly and manufacturing processes.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage production operations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience with production scheduling, ERP/MRP systems, and manufacturing software.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety standards, and quality management systems.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is a plus.
