Job Overview
Join our café team as an Evening Shift Leader at our new Coffee and Gelato shop in Bay Harbor! You will make an hourly rate of $18-$20 per hour plus tips! Duties
- Lead and motivate a team of baristas during your shift, fostering a positive and energetic work environment
- Oversee daily café operations, including food preparation, serving, and cashiering using POS systems such as Toast
- Ensure all food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation standards are strictly followed to maintain health compliance
- Manage cash handling procedures accurately, including cash register operations and basic math calculations for sales transactions
- Monitor service quality, assist with coffee brewing, food preparation, and customer service to ensure timely and friendly interactions
- Train new team members on POS systems, food safety practices, and customer service expectations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and retail standards
Experience
- Previous barista experience in a café or retail environment with a focus on food service and customer interaction
- Proven leadership skills with experience supervising or leading shifts in a fast-paced setting
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Toast
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy hours
- Familiarity with food safety standards, food handling procedures, and serving techniques in the food industry
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to sales, cash handling, and retail math concepts
- Experience in coffee preparation, serving beverages, and managing retail transactions is highly desirable
