Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep understanding of sushi-making techniques. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring food safety and maintaining a clean work environment. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present sushi dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service and high-quality food delivery.
- Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi items or seasonal specials.
- Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food handling practices.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, particularly in sushi preparation.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations within the food industry.
- Proficient in knife skills for precise cutting and presentation of ingredients.
- Experience in catering or working within a dietary department is a plus.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
