Summary: The Maintenance Technician installs, maintains and repairs production equipment and associated systems to ensure the facility performs to the highest standards. The position works within the Plant Engineering team and requires a high degree of self-direction. Close working relations with Technical & Production departments will be essential to ensure production is supported at all times.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Address production issues related to maintenance
-
Perform maintenance of equipment and repairs as required
-
Test equipment in order to assure proper performance
-
Diagnose, troubleshoot, update and repair malfunctioning equipment.

Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and electrical equipment
-
Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.

Diagnose mechanical or electrical problems and determine corrective measures by referring to blueprints, schematics, repair manuals, parts catalogs, etc. as necessary

Perform all actions related to the preventive maintenance program of the company Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that equipment continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate

Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms
-
Participate in equipment installation and help during start-up

Participate in special projects as assigned and perform related duties as required

Help solve problems related to maintenance

Suggest continuous improvement projects

Respect safety standards of the company and maintain a clean work environment.

Ensure and adhere to safe work practices and procedures including, but not limited to lockout/tag-out and confined space rules and regulations

Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

Adhere to GMP policies and procedures as well as to Robertet Personal and Food Safety Standards

Perform other tasks as assigned or necessary

Commitment to Robertet and SQF Safety and Quality Standards and continuous improvement of the quality management systems.
Position Requirements:

Required:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or three to six months related experience and/or training.
Position Competencies:
-
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in the flavors or chemical manufacturing industry

Ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of equipment and instrumentation
-
Being familiar with mechanical or electrical drawings
-
Ability to understand and follow various guidelines and working procedures (eg: health and safety, hygiene and sanitation)

Basic mathematics
-
Positive attitude and ability to communicate effectively

Self-motivated and ability to work independently
-
Must be available for on call schedule and flexible to work other shifts as assigned.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions or procedural manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before small groups.

Minimum computer skills needed such as word processing, business software and Excel spreadsheets.
