The Radiological Controls Engineering team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an entry level engineer for ensuring that radiological work at NRF is performed in compliance with local, corporate, and regulatory requirements. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Reviewing and concurring with technical work documents
- Assist in the scoping and planning of complex radiological work
- Development of standards and local processes to ensure compliance to applicable requirements
- Performing audits and surveillances of documents and work processes
- Support the Emergency Response Organization through drills and exercises.
Radiological Controls Engineers are required to obtain and maintain the following qualification, all of which are obtained on-site:
- Radiation or Contamination Worker
- Engineer of NRF Work
- Engineer of Radiological Work
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field.
- Experience in radiological controls or nuclear industry.
- Demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely articulate technical work to senior management in written and verbal formal.
- Ability to work with stakeholders across multiple organizations and cross-site
- Strong communication skills.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
