Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, including product demos when applicable
- Operate the cash register accurately, handling retail sales transactions, cash handling, and cash drawer management with precision
- Upsell products and promote store specials to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain stock levels by assisting with stocking shelves and merchandising displays to ensure an inviting shopping environment
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries via phone etiquette and in person, ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Conduct product knowledge sharing and product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
- Support store operations through basic retail math calculations for transactions and inventory management
Experience
- Previous cashiering experience in retail or grocery store environments preferred
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations required
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and grocery store procedures highly desirable
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory counts
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to handle inquiries professionally
