Job Summary
Join our dynamic fleet maintenance team as an Assistant Fleet Mechanic / Fleet Maintenance Assistant! In this energetic role, you will support the repair, maintenance, and inspection of a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and industrial machinery. Your hands-on expertise will help ensure our vehicles and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. Duties
- Assist senior mechanics with diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, and fluid checks
- Support fabrication and welding tasks to repair or modify equipment using power tools and hand tools
- Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, and air brake systems
- Conduct inspections on vehicles and equipment to identify issues related to suspension, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and alignment
- Aid in assembling new machinery or components following technical specifications
- Operate heavy equipment safely during maintenance tasks and assist with heavy lifting as needed
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a dealership or heavy equipment service environment is highly preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive repair, diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, soldering, and using power tools for repairs and modifications
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex machinery
- Familiarity with service technician practices including tire service, brake repair, suspension work, and HVAC systems
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with team members or external clients regarding maintenance needs
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy machinery safely throughout the workday

Pay: $17.50 - $19.50 per hour
