Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our construction team, bringing expertise in a wide range of building disciplines and a passion for leading projects to successful completion. As a Lead Carpenter, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of various construction activities, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on every project. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills in carpentry, and more while guiding a team of skilled tradespeople. Your leadership will be instrumental in delivering high-quality results that meet client specifications and project deadlines. The ability to take directions and follow direction is imperative. Experience with restoration, window and door work is a plus. OSHA 10 is a requirement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise construction crews in restoration, replacement and renovation work to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide project execution accurately.
- Coordinate with project managers and clients to plan daily activities, allocate resources, and troubleshoot on-site issues promptly.
- Oversee the proper use of hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and safety protocols across all tasks.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained through detailed inspections of concrete finishing, tile work, masonry work, roofing, siding, stucco application, and light framing.
- Manage site logistics including material handling, scaffolding setup, and restoration or remodeling efforts as needed.
- We are looking for a canidate with a wide range of experience.
- Must have your own tools, consumables and specialty items will be provided.
Skills
- Extensive experience with construction site management across diverse projects involving carpentry masonry, roofing, siding, and restoration.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and schematics interpretation to guide precise execution of complex tasks.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation, heavy lifting procedures, and use of hand tools or power tools.
- Skilled in various trades including carpentry (frame carpentry, trim carpentry), masonry (stucco), roofing techniques, rebar installation, drywall finishing (plastering), and siding installation.
- Ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining high standards for quality control and safety compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the capacity to adapt plans based on project needs or unforeseen challenges.
- Demonstrated experience in construction management with an emphasis on scheduling, resource allocation, and client communication.
