Emerge is currently recruiting qualified candidates for a direct hire Facilities Electrical Engineer job in Hampton, Virginia for our client, a leading industrial and aerospace manufacturer. This role will manage the electrical and controls scope of process improvement, capital expansion, and equipment modernization projects, while providing engineering support to production and maintenance teams. As a Facilities Electrical Engineer, you will focus on overseeing automation, control, and monitoring systems, maintaining related documentation, and driving continuous improvement across existing systems. Additional focus areas include facility safety and oversight of contractor work. This position offers a salary range of $90,000-$100,000 per year plus a 5% annual bonus. Responsibilities for the Facilities Electrical Engineer job in Hampton, Virginia include:
- Managing electrical and controls aspects of capital projects, from concept and design through installation, start-up, and closeout
- Providing advanced support for automated control and monitoring systems, including programming and troubleshooting
- Supporting production and maintenance teams with engineering expertise to improve system reliability and productivity
- Identifying and implementing improvements to existing systems and processes
- Maintaining accurate documentation for automated systems and program changes
- Promoting a strong safety culture and overseeing contractor compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with electrical systems, including power distribution and control/monitoring systems
- Experience with Project Management.
- Basic understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control
- Capable of programming Allen Bradley/ControlLogix/Modicon PLC systems
- Experience programming Wonderware, SQL, touchscreen HMI/SCADA systems
- Understanding of NEC, NFPA, and other pertinent electrical safety codes
- Ability to use ACAD/Inventor
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
