What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
As a Cognitive Rehab Therapist, you will facilitate functional changes to maximize our clients' daily independence, focusing on cognitive foundations, executive functioning, and self-regulation.
- Direct Client Support: Conduct individualized therapy sessions in the client’s home and community settings.
- Implement Treatment Plans: Carry out tailored programs designed to reinforce positive behavior patterns and build new compensatory cognitive skills.
- Assessment & Evaluation: Participate in evaluations to identify client strengths and track ongoing progress.
- Care Collaboration: Coordinate closely with the broader treatment team and maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
- Ensure Safety: Implement community-integration interventions focused on client safety and real-world success.
Job Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related Human Services field (Required).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience working with adults with traumatic brain injuries (TBI) or intellectual/developmental disabilities (Required).
Credentials & Logistics:
- License: Valid Driver’s License and a reliable personal vehicle (Position requires regular travel to client locations; Required).
- Certification: Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) designation is highly preferred, or willingness to become CBIS-eligible.
