Qualifications/Preferred Skills
- 1+ year of customer service experience; retail, food service, or barista experience preferred.
- Availability for early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Dependable, quick learner with a passion for providing great service.
- Ability to confidently learn about and sell products, including bakery items, sandwiches, and specialty cakes.
Position Overview
As a Front of House team member, you will represent our brand by delivering outstanding customer service and creating welcoming experiences for our guests. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about high-quality baked food and working with a close knit team. Key responsibilities and essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Retail Associate Requirements:
- Customer Service Expertise: Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service and create positive guest experiences in a fast-paced environment.
- Food Handling Skills: Experience handling and serving food, including sandwiches, baked goods, and specialty cakes, or a willingness to learn.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with others while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
- Attention to Detail: Commitment to quality and accuracy when preparing food, packaging baked goods, and maintaining store cleanliness.
- Flexibility: Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and mornings as needed.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and work in a physically active environment.
- Passion for Hospitality: Genuine enthusiasm for creating a welcoming atmosphere and representing the values of Button Rock Bakery.
- Food Safety Awareness: Basic knowledge of or willingness to learn food safety practices and hygiene standards.
Retail/Deli Duties:
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures: Adhere to all Button Rock Bakery SOPs to maintain consistency, quality, and a smooth workflow.
- Execute Daily Operations: Oversee and participate in the efficient day-to-day functioning of the store, including opening and closing procedures.
- Prepare and Serve Food: Assist in preparing sandwiches, packaging bakery items, and serving customers efficiently and accurately.
- Fulfill Orders Promptly: Ensure accurate and timely order preparation for both retail and to-go customers, maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Deliver Exceptional Customer Service: Provide a warm, engaging, and memorable experience for every guest, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Maintain Store Cleanliness: Keep all areas of the store, including counters, prep areas, and restrooms, clean and organized throughout the day.
- Equipment Care and Maintenance: Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of deli equipment, ovens, and other tools to ensure proper functioning and longevity.
- Promote Retail Sales: Engage customers with product knowledge and enthusiasm, recommending baked goods, sandwiches, and specialty cakes to enhance their experience.
- Collaborate with the Team: Work harmoniously with the Button Rock Bakery team to create a positive and productive environment, assisting others as needed to meet store goals.
Pay: $15/hr + tips. Averaging $19/hr - $20/hr
