PROJECT ENGINEER
A Project Engineer, is an individual who has obtained a four-year engineering or construction management degree and reports to either a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager or Vice President in a support role. Project Engineer’s work assignments will be both field and office based as required within a 45 to 55-hour work week. Consideration for advancement to Senior Project Engineers will be based on work performance and experience.
Project Engineer’s in cooperation with others on the project are responsible for:
BIDDING

Attend Pre-Bid Meetings

Investigate and administer Insurance issues as they relate to job specifics

Perform site investigations
-
Quantity take-offs on Agtek or otherwise
-
Assist with the assembly of Bids
-
Preparation of Bids for review by Manager
-
Delivery of Bids
AWARD/PRE-AWARD
-
Preparation of DBE Blue Sheets
-
Assist with DBE Waivers
-
Preparation of Subcontracts
-
Assist with the development and maintenance of the Progress Schedule/CPM
-
Insurance Certifications, distribution
-
Assist with the Testing Order
-
Assist with Trainee Assignments
-
Attend Pre-Construction meeting
-
Assist with the preparation of Purchase Orders/Subcontracts
-
Help with any Permits
-
Assist with necessary notifications
-
Routing of Shop Drawings
-
Acquire and submit all required Material Source Lists (MSL)
-
Acquire and submit all Material Certifications
-
Prepare, track and distribute all requires submittals
-
Submit Check Requests as required
-
Assist Project Manager with Property Agreements
CONSTRUCTION
-
Assist with Pay Estimates
-
Processing of MDOT Estimates
-
Quantity reviews and recording of Foreman’s Reports
-
Complete responsibility for management of smaller jobs and assist with larger jobs
-
Temporary Designs and Methods, Investigate and Develop
-
Resolve any items on Insufficient materials Report with MDOT/Owner
-
Work with Project Administrator on Office Trailer, Porta Johns, Dumpsters, Water
-
Track Contract Modifications and Work Orders. Distribute to Subcontractors/Suppliers as necessary.

Initiate and monitor all DTE Service Contracts
-
Assist with the investigation and development of Temporary Designs and Construction Methods.

Manage projects under direct supervision of Senior Project Manager or Vice President
-
Assisting with day to day activities on projects including submitting lane closure notifications, submitting work zone access plans, attending progress meetings, etc.

Assist Project Managers with the development of “as-builts” plans from Foreman Reports
