Job Summary
The Housing Navigator will play a critical role in assisting our residents with arranging housing through community outreach and engagement. This position requires a compassionate and proactive individual who is dedicated to helping men transitioning from incarceration find safe and stable housing.
Duties
- Assist participants in identifying and securing appropriate housing options.
- Conduct community outreach to build relationships with landlords, property managers, and housing agencies.
- Provide participants with information and resources related to housing opportunities.
- Coordinate and facilitate housing workshops and informational sessions for participants.
- Maintain up-to-date records of housing resources and participant housing status.
- Collaborate with case managers and other staff to develop individualized housing plans for participants.
- Advocate on behalf of participants to address housing barriers and challenges.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, housing authorities, and service providers.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of housing programs and make recommendations for improvements.
- Provide ongoing support and follow-up with participants to ensure housing stability.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in housing coordination, community outreach, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of housing resources and services available to individuals transitioning from incarceration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with participants.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with community partners and service providers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to travel within the community to meet with landlords, property managers, and participants.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
