The Senior Employee Relations Specialist is a key contributor to maintaining a positive, compliant, and respectful workplace. In this role, you will lead complex and sensitive employee investigations, provide expert guidance to HR partners and leaders, and support consistent application of policies and workplace practices. You’ll play an essential role in resolving employee concerns, reinforcing the TVA Code of Conduct, and identifying emerging trends that help strengthen organizational culture.
This position requires strong analytical skills, a high level of professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and sound judgment. The ideal candidate is a quick learner who is organized, communicative, and able to handle complex issues with objectivity and discretion. Professional certifications are considered a strong plus.
POSITION PURPOSE:
Conduct and manage employee investigations in response to employee concerns or disciplinary items. Provide guidance and act as a subject matter expert during investigations and employee relations activities.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Counsel and advise leaders and HR Partnerships concerning policy interpretation, discipline, and misconduct regarding employee relations issues and monitor progress.
- Identify and assist in the resolution of employee concerns, grievances and dispute issues. Address complex issues and inquiries using SPPs, knowledge base, and other reference materials to provide consistent support across the enterprise. Escalate highly complex issues to Program Manager, Employee Concerns.
- Conduct investigations regarding reported concerns and allegations including harassment, intimidation, retaliation and discrimination (HIRD) and policy violations and prepare required reports. Partner cross-functionally to provide resolution and/or corrective action recommendations.
- Support TVA Code of Conduct implementation and related practices and coordinate and manage resolution of reported compliance concerns.
- Identify and address trends in workplace conflict and employee concern issues and recommend strategies to address them. Collaborates with HR partners and business leaders to find effective and timely resolutions to issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education – Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience – 3+ years of related experience.
Certification/License, etc. — None
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities — Strong knowledge and understanding of leading practice within Employee Relations function, knowledge of employment laws and regulations, and analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills and high attention to detail. The ability to consistently deliver high quality customer service in a professional manner, work with confidential information and maintain confidentiality, develop and deliver oral and written communications which convey complex information in a simple, easy to understand manner, identify and analyze issues based on data or available information, understand and appreciate the interests and feelings of others, maintain objectivity under pressure, work with others in a team environment. The ability to travel to various TVA locations.
