Position Overview
Morning Vista Homes LLC is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Interior Designer / Project Coordinator to join our growing residential homebuilding team. This is a dynamic position that combines interior design, construction documentation, project coordination, and office administration.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously. You will work closely with the owner, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and our external design team to ensure our custom homes are executed to the highest standards.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in residential design or residential construction.
· Strong understanding of residential construction methods, drawings, and specifications.
· Ability to read, interpret, and prepare construction documents and design drawings.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong design, space planning, and visualization abilities.
· Highly organized with excellent time management and multitasking skills.
· Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members and trade partners.
· Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
· Working knowledge of local suppliers, building materials, and current pricing.
· Familiarity with current residential design trends and applicable building codes.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign is required.
· Experience with QuickBooks and Monday.com is preferred or willingness to learn.
Primary Responsibilities
· Collaborate with our external design firm to convert conceptual designs into construction documents suitable for subcontractors and suppliers.
· Produce detailed design and construction documentation, including floor plans, elevations, finish schedules, cabinetry drawings, furniture layouts, installation details, and presentation renderings.
· Prepare accurate material takeoffs and coordinate purchasing with established vendors.
· Research and source finish materials, fixtures, appliances, cabinetry, lighting, and other products while maintaining project budgets.
· Review bids, vendor proposals, shop drawings, and product submittals for accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
· Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and project schedules.
· Visit jobsites to perform quality control inspections and verify that construction meets design intent.
· Assist with project scheduling and maintain project timelines using Monday.com.
· Track project expenses and enter costs into QuickBooks (training provided as needed).
· Maintain organized project files, documentation, and material selections.
· Provide administrative support for day-to-day operations as needed.
· Perform additional duties as assigned to support the successful completion of residential construction projects.
