Job Summary
Insight Construction is seeking an experienced Commercial Concrete Tradesman to join our concrete team. This position is ideal for someone who has hands-on concrete construction experience, takes pride in quality workmanship, and enjoys being part of a hardworking field team.
The Commercial Concrete Tradesman will perform a variety of concrete construction activities, including forming, reinforcing, placing, finishing, and completing concrete work for commercial construction projects throughout New Mexico.
Duties & Responsibilities

Perform hands-on commercial concrete work, including forming, reinforcing, placing, finishing, and curing concrete.

Build, set, brace, and strip wood, metal, and modular concrete forms.

Install rebar, wire mesh, embeds, dowels, and other reinforcing materials.

Assist with layout, elevations, and grading using lasers, levels, and other layout equipment.

Place concrete for foundations, footings, slabs, walls, sidewalks, curb and gutter, retaining walls, and other commercial concrete structures.

Assist with concrete pours, including directing trucks, handling chutes, working with concrete pumps, vibrating concrete, and supporting screed operations.

Screed, float, edge, and finish concrete using hand and power tools.

Operate walk-behind and ride-on power trowels when qualified and experienced.

Perform saw cutting, control joint installation, curing, sealing, and other concrete finishing activities.

Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and concrete equipment.

Read and follow construction plans, specifications, elevations, and instructions from project supervision.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and proper PPE practices.

Work collaboratively with foremen, supervisors, and other crew members to maintain production and quality standards.
Qualifications

1–3+ years of commercial concrete or related construction experience preferred.

Experience with concrete forming, placing, and/or finishing.

Knowledge of commercial concrete construction methods and materials.

Ability to use common concrete hand tools, power tools, levels, and equipment.

Ability to read construction plans and understand elevations and dimensions preferred.

Experience with form setting and/or concrete finishing is strongly preferred.

Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a crew.

Strong attention to quality and jobsite safety.

Reliable attendance and ability to report to jobsites as scheduled.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.

Willingness to travel to project locations throughout New Mexico as needed.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding field position that requires:

Standing and walking for extended periods.
-
Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and lifting.

Lifting and carrying materials and equipment weighing up to 75 lbs.

Working with concrete, construction materials, hand tools, and power equipment.

Working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and sun.

Working extended hours when required by project schedules or concrete pours.
