Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and Reggio Emilia methods to support holistic childhood development.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies, ensuring safety and emotional well-being of all children.
- Engage children in hands-on activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth while encouraging creativity and exploration.
- Collaborate with families to communicate children's progress, behavioral observations, and developmental milestones through regular updates.
- Maintain detailed lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards and adapt teaching methods for children with special education needs or those requiring early intervention.
- Manage daily classroom routines including diapering, potty training, meal times, nap schedules, and outdoor play to ensure a structured yet flexible environment.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing when appropriate to monitor developmental progress and tailor individual learning strategies.
Requirements
- Prior classroom experience working with toddlers and preschool-aged children in daycare or private school settings.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management best practices.
- Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and Montessori methods is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and children’s support teams such as special education or early intervention specialists.
- Ability to create an inclusive environment that supports child welfare and promotes positive social interactions among students.
- Certification or training in early childhood education or related fields is preferred; ongoing professional development is encouraged.
- Physical ability to engage actively with children during playtime, outdoor activities, and physical education sessions. Pay: $15.00 - $23.00 per hour
