Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Cake Decorator to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will bring artistic flair and culinary expertise to create stunning decorated cakes that delight our customers. Your creativity and precision will help us uphold our reputation for quality and craftsmanship in every baked masterpiece.
Duties
- Decorate cakes with intricate designs, fondant, icing, and other decorative elements in accordance with customer specifications and recipes
- Prepare cake fillings, frostings, and other pastry components ensuring high-quality standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently to assist in cake assembly and decoration processes
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure food safety and hygiene compliance
- Follow recipes meticulously to ensure consistency in flavor, appearance, and quality of baked goods
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as pastry preparation, food handling, and packaging for retail or catering orders
- Support high-volume production needs during busy periods while adhering to food safety management practices
Skills
- Extensive experience in cake decorating, pastry preparation, and food production techniques
- Strong knife skills and proficiency with culinary tools required for detailed decorating work
- Knowledge of operating kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, piping tools, and refrigeration units
- Ability to follow detailed recipes accurately while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills to understand client preferences and communicate effectively with team members
- Solid understanding of food safety standards, food handling procedures, and kitchen sanitation practices
- Experience working in high-volume bakery or catering environments is highly desirable
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients accurately and managing inventory levels
- Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant setting is preferred but not mandatory
